September 19 - I tried to get a real blog up here for the front page, but the operator interface was proving unwieldy, so I chose to return to this form.

The past few weeks have been frightfully busy with Dragon*Con plopped in the middle of it all.

The campaigns have been moving forward, even with all the absences we have had during the summer.  Hopefully those are coming to an end soon.

In tne New Urkana campaign, we are getting close to wrapping up the King of the Trollhaunt Warrens campaign arc.  The group is currently approaching mid-paragon level.

In the Old Republic campaign of Star Was, the group has reached the derlict, found the cargo the Twi'lek scoundrel sent them for, but seem to have some unwelcome and quite hostile guests.

NukeHavoc on Twitter recommended the Order 66 Podcasts on the
D20 Radio site.  For those who enjoy the Saga Edition of the Star Wars RPG, these are fantastic.

In the Eberron campaign, the group is finished at the Whispering Cairn, and has reached 3rd level, but are about to find some trouble in town.

WotC must have really liked the Age of Wyrms adventure path, because they keep translating elements of it to 4E, making my job significantly easier.  The Eberron group should be encountering another tranlsated item here shortly.

On the Traveller front, I posted a review of the MPG Traveller core rulebook on the
Traveller Freeport site.  I have also (finally) posted the first chaper of Listen to Tomorrow.

Big post here, but I've been quiet for awhile and there is a lot to catch up on.

October 3rd - Wow, it is October already.  Things have been busy, busy, busy around here and very little of it game related.

In the Urkana campaign, we are close to wrapping up the Trollhaunt arc.  The group is in the Feywild and closing in on the troll king.

In the Eberron campaign, the group is close to the end of the Whispering Cairn arc.  They are close to 4th level.  If they don't make it by the end of the arc, there might be a small side quest before the beginning of Three Faces of Evil.

In the Star Wars campaign, the group has discovered some Mandaloreans and are finishing with them before taking the salvaged cargo back to their patron.  How much they will be able to salvage for themselves remains to be seen.

With no active campaign going in Traveller, it unfortunately gets the back burner treatment.  I'll try to get another installment of Look to Tomorrow up this coming week.

I have caught up on the back podcasts of Order 66 and have started listening to Radio Free Hommlet.   This podcasts is for 4E and gets down into the crunchy parts of that system.  I have also started listening to a new podcasts, The City of Doors, which deals more with the fluff of 4E.  Their first episode hade a wonderful breakdown of how to use each of the Dragonmarked houses as villains in Eberron.

A4E beware.   Order 66 and Radio Free Hommlet can be found at
www.d20radio.com.  The City of Doors is part of the D20 radio group, but isn't on the feed yet. It is available at http://feeds.feedburner.com/cityofdoors.

October 12th - A big Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian readers.  Another week has passed and I managed to run a session of all three campaigns last week.

In the Eberron campaign, the group fought Filge and his monsters.  This brings them almost to the end of the Whispering Cairn adventure.  I'll probably do something on the side to get them to 4th level before starting Three Faces of Evil.

In the Star Wars campaign, the crew of the Rusty Bucket has managed to evade the Mandaloreans, confound the pirates, and get out of the system.  While they couldn't salvage much of the other cargo, they did get what the Twi'lek sent them for.  Now they are on their way back to Voba and a rendezvous with their patron.

The Urkana campaign draws closer to the end of the Trollhaunt Warren arc.  This past session saw the addition of two new members to the group.  They had been captured by the trolls and were most likely bound for the stew pot when the group found them in their search for Skalmad.

I did manage to get chapter 2 of Listen to Tomorrow up, albeit a few days later than I would like.

In other news, Kaioso is looking to start the Scales of War adventure path and is currently recruiting players.  If you are interested in getting into an 4E game played on-line, contact me through my e-mail or at Twitter.  This is starting at level 1 and new players are welcome.

October 25th - Well, the days have certainly marched on since the last report.  Primal Power is out and it is giving me the itch to play my favorite barbarian again.

We are also closing in on National Novel Writing Month (
www.nanowrimo.org), but I am undecided as to whether I will participate this year.  It won't seem like November, though without mad typing.  We'll see.

In the Eberron campaign, we have pressed on into Three Faces of Evil and the group has reached 4th level.  I was going to toss in a side quest to get them there, but we're rolling now.  The group has penetrated the Dourstone mine and is looking for trouble.

In the Star Wars campaign, the crew of the Rusty Bucket has made their delivery and are now getting ready to head out on their next job.

In the New Urkana campaign, the group defeated the troll king and destroyed the artifact that kept him coming back.  Then they returned from the Feywild only to find themselves on a Mote that was being raised.
The group quickly used a teleport ritual to get back to Arlaat where they celebrated their victory and then moved on to Tinpick.  They will have the chance to use the mass of loot they have acquired over the past several (game) weeks of adventuring.

The recent actions of the various groups may have obviated the horror adventure I had in mind for them, but the A4E group will be facing some frightening things soon enough.  As for the others, we'll have to see what happens this week.

October 30th - Greetings fellow gamers. October is almost gone and the holiday season is coming up fast.  My tentative holiday schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, 25 November - No Star Wars
Saturday, 26 December - No New Urkana

With Christmas and New Years on Friday this year, it should not interfere with the campaigns too much.  Of course this could change if a lot of players are travelling for the holidays and can't make games.  Let me know early about games you may miss.

In the Eberron campaign we had our first combat of the Three Faces of Evil module.  This one was written by Mike Mearls and I feel he slipped some 4E into this module.  I'd have to cross check when the module was written, but I think he was working on 4E at the time.  The monster at the end begs to be a solo.

In Star Wars the group has left Voba and found the Queen Miranda, which is the setting for my horror offering this year.  There is a clue to the monster in the ship's name.  We should finish this next session.

No new session of New Urkana since last post.

On the Traveller side of the house, I've been looking at the next chapter of Listen to Tomorrow.  The Close Escort project is stuck at the moment.  Fuel tankage is bogging me down as it often does.  I may jump over and draw the modified Empress Marava that is featured in the story.

January 7, 2010 - Long time, no blog.  November and December were very, very crazy.

In New Urkana, the group has reached 18th level and is on a mission in the Shadowfell.

Star Wars took a break over December, but we are back and playing again.  The group is on Arteth, the world ruled by a Theocracy.  The Jedi senses an unrest in the Force.

In A4E, we are coming close to the end of Three Faces of Evil.  The group has gone through all three cultist areas and was heading out when they found the leaders.

I am way behind on A4E journal entries, but need to know if they are helpful to the players before I go to catch up.

Not much work got done on Traveller during NaNoWriMo or the Holidays, but I did pick up the MGP Traveller screen.

Speaking of NaNoWriMo, this year was a tough year with a slow start, especially with the World Series pushing on into November, but I managed to finish it.  I worked on it some in December before getting overwhelmed by events.

This year's story was a steampunk adventure based in the Space:1889 setting.  I hope to finish the story sometime.

I might have the opportunity to get a more functional blog going, but need to work out the details with the provider.
